Piling Hammer (EMV)

Piling Hammers (EMVs) are specifically designed as a sheet piling attachment for excavators. They have a high power to weight ratio due to the high operating frequency and can apply an additional vertical force from the excavator to assist driving if required. This type of excavator mounted sheet pile driver is ideally suited to cohesive, granular soil conditions and can significantly decrease driving time, reduce noise and minimise potentially hazardous vibrations.

The Side Grip Piling Hammer is an excavator-mounted vibratory pile hammer that can hold the pile or tube from the side and drive/pull the pile from this profile, meaning they are ideal when working in limited heights. The greatest advantage of the Side Grip Piling Hammer is that sheet piles can be used that are much longer than the reach of the excavator boom, meaning you can install and remove long sheet piles using your own excavator.

The DX20 Excavator-Mounted Impact Hammer is designed for driving Sheet Piles and Steel Tubes. Fitted with a Tilt/Rotator and Quick Hitch Adapter for optimum manoeuvrability when connected to a suitable excavator. When connected to the excavators Quick Hitch, the hammer can be quickly lifted from a horizontal transport position to a vertical position. Side tilt adjustment of five degrees left and right allows the hammer to cope with site conditions.

Larssen Piles are a type of sheet piling that has an interlocking section which forms a sheet piling retaining wall. Each sheet pile section is connected at 180 degrees from the previous one to form a uniform wall with alternating troughs and peaks. Larssen Sheet Piles are typically used in temporary or permanent cofferdams, retaining walls and foundation construction.

The Gooseneck Extension is used to extend the vibrator’s height and reach and is simply mounted on the jib of the excavator. This facility is particularly useful for driving longer piles in soft ground conditions where there is a need to reach over and down embankments or to clear obstructions etc. As well being compatible with the hammer models listed in the table above, the Gooseneck can also be used with the more powerful E5FM and E7FM Excavator Mounted Vibrators.

VibroSafe Quick Hitch Adaptor

The Piletec VibroSafe Quick Hitch Adaptor is a specially developed piece of equipment that is exclusive to Piletec. The VibroSafe connects Excavator Mounted Vibratory Hammers via the excavator’s quick hitch system. The adaptor comes pre-assembled; eliminating the need for the fitting or removal of bolts and pins. The VibroSafe can be used with 90% of all quick hitch systems from 12–25 tonne excavators.

A Ratchet Release Shackle is a piece of ancillary equipment which is specifically designed as a piling shackle for pitching trench sheets and piles using appropriate lifting equipment. This is a ground release shackle which enables sheet piles to be lifted vertically into temporary guides and then safely released from ground level once the sheet or pile is secured. Ground release shackle suppliers emphasise that to uphold the safe use of shackles, they must not be used for pile extraction.
